[Chacmool-l] AGM and Executive Elections

Chacmool Members,

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is Monday March 28th and will be at
10am-11am. This will be a meeting that is open to all Chacmool members. We
will discuss our past year involving our expenses, our events and talk about
any changes to our constitution that members may request. If you are
planning to run for an exec position for next year, we recommend you attend.
If you are unable to attend, you can personally seek out any of our execs
and gather further details.

 

3 of our executives are leaving the office at the end of this academic year.
This means that 3 positions will be vacant. However, all 4 positions are
available to run for. Here is a brief description of the positions:

President: This position involves the delegation of all tasks that the club
requires. The president is in charge of setting up meetings, gathering
volunteers, and keeping communications with other clubs and organizations.
They also deal with all the memberships and news that needs to be delivered
to the members.

Vice-President: The VP mainly looks after publications that Chacmool has in
its possession. This means that if someone locally or internationally would
like to purchase any of the publications, the VP must be able to provide
them with what they need. If the President requires any help on certain
tasks, the VP should be available.

 

Social Coordinator: This position is in charge of organizing the many events
that Chacmool provides. This may include smaller tasks such as cooking and
buying supplies. Candidates looking to fill this positions should be
organized and sociable. All execs help out with events, however the Social
Coordinator should be able to take the lead.

 

Treasurer: The treasurer is in charge of all the monies. This includes merch
that we sell/buy, funding for events, and assisting in the Conference funds.


 

With all positions, you get a personal desk in an office that you may use
for quiet studying.

 

Elections will be held April 6-8th and you can sign up for positions the
positions following the AGM outside our office ES 826 until the elections. 

*We strongly recommend that members run for a position. In this tough
economy, having a leadership position on your CV stands out.*
