[Chacmool-l] Conference Volunteers Needed!

Chacmool Members,

The Planning Committee for the 49th Annual Chacmool Archaeology Conference
is currently recruiting sub-committee members to assist with planning and
administrating the upcoming conference. The conference will be held in
November 2016, and the topic for this year is Profane, Outlawed, and
Prohibited: The Archaeology of Taboo. The Chacmool Archaeology Conference is
the largest undergraduate-run conference in North America. 

 

The sub-committees we are seeking to populate include: 

*	Finances (taking in registration and fundraising money, creating and
maintaining a budget and financial spreadsheets)
*	Recruitment and Coordination (recruiting and managing volunteers for
bake sales or other various fundraising activities)
*	Marketing (general advertisement, website management, managing
social media presence and external communications)
*	Program Coordination (managing submissions and communications, and
administrating the construction of the program)
*	Logistics (managing conference venue and operations, managing
banquet facilities, managing travel and accommodations for speakers)
*	Sponsorship/Participations (contacting potential sponsors and
managing sponsors, managing other various fundraising events)

Why should you get involved? Volunteering looks great on a resume or CV,
being involved with the conference is a great way to get involved with the
archaeological community, and it's a ton of fun.
