Hello,

I'm so excited to let the CCA community know about Engage2026!<https://engage2026.anthrojourno.org/> A virtual, and international, engagement journalism conference for people shaping the future of engagement journalism. We welcome communications educators, journalists, students, social scientists, and anyone with an orientation to engagement journalism to join us.

[:mega:]The call for session proposals and registration is now open! This year we’re asking: What happens when we view journalism as a caretaking profession? [:palm_up_hand:] We’re looking for sessions that can teach something. A few directions to consider:

  * How an ethic of care has helped you move beyond the limitations of traditional, distant reporting to foster connection, compassion, and more responsible public understanding
  * Projects and teams where care and empathy work together in practice
  * How adopting caretaking as a stance has unlocked new capabilities or reached new audiences
  * Your techniques for teaching caretaking within engagement journalism
  * Broad reflections on what caretaking means for journalism's relationship with communities

There are several ways you can participate (& you can do them all)!

  1. Submit your proposal by April 20. [:microphone:]
  2. Pitch a story to the conference magazine. [:book:]
  3. Beam an audio piece to the conference radio station [:radio:]
  4. Are you an editor? Email engage at anthrojourno.org<mailto:engage at anthrojourno.org> to learn more about Pitchapalooza, it's like speed-dating for freelancers & editors.

>>Learn more about submissions here<https://engage2026.anthrojourno.org/submissions>.
And grab your early-bird ticket here<https://engage2026.anthrojourno.org/#pricing> before April 30!

Thank you.
