The MA and PHD programs in Communication Studies invite applications from applicants who seek to examine the extent and significance of internet and media concentration levels as the pervasive processes of digitization, “platformization” and datafication reshape the media, economy and society in Canada and around the world. Fellowships are fully funded positions that include generous scholarships, research assistantships, and teaching assistant opportunities. Research Assistants will conduct independent MA/PhD research while also having opportunities to work with faculty and graduate students on the Canadian Media Concentration Research Project<http://www.cmcrp.org/> and emergent collaborations with other universities in Canada and internationally. Such opportunities will also include actively intervening in the public policy and regulatory proceedings that are shaping the emerging digital media landscape of the 21st Century.

If you want to develop and hone theoretically- and historically-informed, data- and purpose-driven research on the internet, telecoms and media industries, this opportunity might be a great fit for you.

Prospective applicants interested in the fellowship should contact Dwayne Winseck at dwayne.winseck at carleton.ca<mailto:irena.knezevic at carleton.ca>
