Dear CCA members,

I am writing to inform you that an article of ours (Anita Kangas, Christiaan De Beukelaer, and myself) is temporarily freely accessible.

We published the paper "Cultural policies for sustainable development: four strategic paths <https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/10286632.2017.1280789>” in 2017, but the question of how to transition to more sustainable societies hasn’t lost any urgency. On the contrary. And while many people in arts and culture are keen to contribute positively to this change, too many people simply assume a positive relationship between culture and sustainable development. In this paper, we challenge this uncritical view, but constructively propose four “strategic paths” through which cultural policy and people and organisations in arts and culture can take action.

Now, usually, academic articles like this are locked away behind paywalls. This one is no exception. But given the urgency of the issue, and the upcoming UNCTAD <https://unctad.org/en/Pages/MeetingDetails.aspx?meetingid=2234> and ENCATC <https://www.encatccongress.org/> meetings on the topic next month, the publisher kindly agreed to allow free access until the end of October, at this link: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/10286632.2017.1280789 <https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/10286632.2017.1280789>

Best regards,
Nancy
