About emsan-L	English (USA) Japanese Korean
The Network aims at creating a body of musicological studies of the musical repertoire and musical practices within its areas of expertise : musical creation in the twentieth century, when the music has called for audio technology. This encompasses all the electroacooustic music in the conventional sense as well as computer music, audio art, electronic music, sound poetry, installations, etc. The main goal is to conduct a vast project on electroacoustic music and music technology in East Asia and is composed of three main areas. Database o A comprehensive database, geared towards the inventory and documentation of the musical repertory of electroacoustic and computer music from East Asia in the twentieth century. Knowledge base o Search among the materials kept in the repository will be conducted through a knowledge base (bibliographies, hyper-links, program notes, manuals, grey literature, reports....). Repositories o Materials, documentation records and miscellaneous musical data and media will be identified, collected and retrieved, stored and preserved in repositories, in France or in the participating Asian countries. Information on EMSAN: http://www.omf.paris-sorbonne.fr/EMSAN Le réseau a pour but de créer un environnement d’étude msicologique du répertoire et des pratiques musicales dans son aire d’expertise : la création musicale lorsqu’elle fait appel à une technologie électrique, électronique ou audio-numérique. Cela comprend toute la musique électroacoustique (dans le sens conventionnel) ainsi que l’informatique musicale, l’audio art, la musique électronique, la poésie sonore, les installations sonores, la musique électroacoustique au cinéma, au théâtre, pour la dans, pour la radio, etc. Le but principal de la première phase est de conduire un vaste projet autour de la musique électroacoustique et de la technologie musicale selon trois types de programmes. Base de données o Une base de données très fouillée, orientée vers l’inventaire et la documentation du répertoire musical électroacoustique et informatique de l’Asie orientale. Base de connaissance o La recherche documentaire sera enrichie par une base de connaissance rassemblant des matériaux secondaires ou primaires (bibliographie, lien vers d’aures sites, manuels, rapports, littérature grise, notices de programmes, etc. Archives o Les matériaux, documents, données musicales variés, suports and médias identifiés, réunis, stockés et préservés dans des archives seront mis à disposition des chercheurs selon des conditions propres à chaque collection. EMSAN ne cherche pas à constituer un fonds unique, mais au contraire à fédérer les collections déjà existantes ou en cours de consituion, dans les pays partenaires.
