[ENCI-l] EXTRA: Invitation to Second or Third Year Civil Engineering Students to Millennium Promise Dinner on March 24, 2011

Attention:  Second and Third Year Civil Engineering Students

 

My name is Kerry Cundal.  I am a lawyer here in Calgary.  I am a graduate of
the Law Faculty at the U of C.    I am looking for 1-2 Engineering students
to invite to a Millennium Promise dinner on Thursday, March 24 at 4pm with
John McArthur, the CEO for the Millennium Village Projects.

 

The Millennium Promise is an initiative started by the United Nations to
halve extreme poverty by 2015.  John McArthur as the CEO, oversees the
Millennium Villages project, which supports integrated social and business
development services for more than 400,000 people in rural communities
across 10 countries in Africa.

 

Our intention is to create a University of Calgary Chapter for the
Millennium Promise that includes membership from a broad cross-section of
faculties, including, but not limited to the following:  Engineering;
Education; Nursing; Law; Business; and Medicine.  Further, we are exploring
opportunities to engage the business and greater community of Calgary to
participate in the Millennium Village projects.
