Re: NSERC (USRA) Summer Awards
*
The Department has received *SEVEN* Natural Sciences and Engineering
Research Council (NSERC) Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA)
for summer 2010 employments This award provides $4500 over a 16
consecutive week working full-time at the university and the supervisor
is expected to contribute an additional minimum of $1125 ($281.25 per
month) from other research funds. The awards are normally held for
employment over summer months (May-August). Students need to have a
minimum of a cumulative B- average and must be a Canadian citizen or
permanent resident of Canada.

If you are interested in applying, you need to find a faculty member
willing to supervise you. Feel free to approach your instructors or
faculty members and inquire any projects they may have available for the
summer months. The application form requires a short research
proposal, to be completed by the supervisor in consultation with you,
the student. Please see the following link for further information on
applying and eligibility requirements.

*Applications are due to the Civil Engineering Department to Chrissy by
_February 5, 2010_. * Research Services will inform the Department of
the decision mid-March and then we will notify the successful candidates.

Regards,
Chrissy Thatcher
