Attention Third Year Mechanical, Civil, Chemical and Oil & Gas Engineering
Students,
The Petroleum and Energy Society (PES) in association with the Chemical
Engineering Students Society (CESS) are pleased to announce the 2009
Engineering Internship Mixer to be help Tuesday November 24, 2009 from
6:00pm-8:00pm in the Upstairs Ballroom of the MacEwan Students Center.
This event will provide a unique opportunity for students to meet
prospective internship employers in an informal, mixer setting prior to the
application process. Company attendees will include both Human Resources
representatives and Engineering Managers in order to give students
well-rounded insight into these companies and their internship positions.
This year our participating sponsors include Fekete Engineering Software and
Services, ConocoPhillips Canada, Nexen Inc., EnCana Corp., Shell Canada and
Talisman Energy.
Also in attendance, will be representatives from the Engineering Career
Centre, the Society of Petroleum Engineers Young Professionals Organization
(SPE YP), the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and
Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) as well as students currently
participating in the University of Calgary Engineering Internship Program.
This diverse crowd will be on hand to allow students the opportunity to gain
varying perspectives and advice on what to expect not only as an intern, but
as a new grad and professional engineer. Students are encouraged to dress in
business casual attire. Light food and beverages will be provided. This
event promises to be a fun night providing an exciting occasion for creating
new industry connections and developing careers! We look forward to seeing
you in attendance!
