TO ALL ENGG STUDENTS:

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

UrbanCSA Presents Plan It

On Thursday April 2nd the Urban Calgary Students' Association (UrbanCSA) is
bringing "Plan It" staff to the University of Calgary to inform
students about the City of Calgary's new proposed growth plan and receive
student feedback.

Plan It, is the City of Calgary's proposed growth plan for the next 50-60
years. The Plan will dramatically influence how Calgary grows and will
have a direct effect on the future transportation, household and lifestyle
choices our current student generation will have.

Both Plan It and the UrbanCSA are setting up displays and information booths
in the MacEwan Hall south courtyard from 9am to 4pm on April 2nd.
In addition to the displays there will be presentations from Pat Gordon
(Plan It Project Manager), Byron Miller (Director of the Urban Studies
Program) and Guillermo Guglietti (UrbanCSA President).

This is the first time Plan It has directly talked to a major educational
institution about Calgary's future growth. The UrbanCSA believes that
students should have one of the loudest voices when it comes to how our city
is going to grow, for it's the students and the youth that will
inherit this city and will be the ones affected if Plan It passes or not.

The open house will be held in the MacEwan Hall South Courtyard from 9 until
4, and the presentations will take place between 12 and 1:30 on
Thursday April 2nd.
