[ENCI-l] ESS Petition: Students not consulted on removing credit cards as payment option.

In light of the new announcement of the University of Calgary
administration to remove credit cards as an option for online payment of
tuition fees, we as the voice of the Engineering students would like to
oppose.



The opposition is not to the removal of the credit card payment method but
to the acts leading up to the decision. We are part of the Students’
Union, which is our link to the University administration. However, they
were not given any opportunity for input and thus the opinion of the
student body was fully ignored. The hastiness of this change and the short
notice will place many students in an uncomfortable financial situation
and in search of money for their tuition.



By this petition we would like to show the administration of the
University our disappointment in lack of student consultation and
consideration. This reflects very poorly on the University and their plans
of expansion, which seem to not put any weight on the current students.
