Hello All:
Thank you all for your interested in the NSERC USRA competition 2008
with the Department of Civil Engineering.

There has been a little confusion on the process of how to apply for
this competition. Below will list the steps that _*YOU*_, the student,
must take in order for your application to be considered.
1) You need to make sure that you have a B- or B, which translates to a
2.7-3.00GPA here at the University of Calgary
2) You need to be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada
3) You need to find a supervisor that holds an active NSERC grant (you
would need to talk to one of the professors in the Department of Civil
Engineering. See if they are taking any USRA student's for this coming
summer). I would suggest finding a research area that you are
interested in. The Civil Engineering website indicates professors and
their research areas:
http://www.schulich.ucalgary.ca/Civil/faculty-area.htm
4) You complete the application form, form 202 part I and your
supervisor completes part II, found at the link below
http://www.nserc.gc.ca/sf_e.asp?nav=sfnav&lbi=1a
5) *Read *the NSERC website for the requirements:
http://www.nserc.gc.ca/sf_e.asp?nav=sfnav&lbi=1a
This will identify all the documents you require and policies etc.

Once you have all that completed, please drop off your _*COMPLETE
*_application to Jessica in the Civil Engineering Main Office by
/*MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2008 @ 4:30p.m.*/

*Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.*

You are all welcome to pick up the resumes that you dropped off and
attach them to your application.

Thank you for you understanding in this matter.
