The Petroleum Club is looking for new council members for the academic
year beginning Fall 2007 - Winter 2008. PLEASE RESPOND TO
petrocb at ucalgary.ca by Saturday, March 31st if interested. Provide:

full name, year of study and department, position interested in, any prior
experience, and an alternate position. Also indicate if you are on
internship.

The positions available are:
President
VP Finance
VP Events
VP Sponsorship
VP SPE & PetSoc
VP Communications
2nd Yr Rep

The 2006-2007 year was an exciting year. We had a budget of ~$13k and had
numerous activities like the ski trip, Nexen Ft. Mac trip, Shell Ft. Mac
trip (where we flew to Ft. Mac) and a whole bunch of presentations. The
new academic council will be just as exciting with trips such as the SPE
Conference in Anaheim being planned for.

PRESIDENT
------------
Responsibilities:
 - Day-to-day operations of the Club
 - Fund-raising in conjunction with VP Sponsorship
 - Organizing field trips, presentations, social activities in
   conjunction with VP Events

Please note the President's role is a full-time job. It will be like
taking another course.

VP FINANCE
------------
Responsibilities:
 - Managing the Club's account. Budget for this yr was ~13k
 - Work in conjunction with VP Events when organizing events

VP SPONSORSHIP
----------------
Responsibilities:
 - Fund-raise using the sponsorship package to bring in money
 - Will have to start in May 2007 and coordinate with President and VP
   Finance

VP EVENTS
----------------
Responsibilities:
 - Organizing ski trips, field trips, ordering pizza & pop for
   presentations
 - Liaising with SU Clubs to obtain waivers for trips
 - Need to have a credit card

VP SPE & PETSOC
-----------------
 - Primary responsibility is to liaise with the Club's SPE and Petroleum
   Society contacts for activities, fund-raising, events, etc..

VP COMMUNICATIONS
------------------
 - Responsible for maintaining the website, creating posters for
   presentations, sending out emails announcing events
 - Administrative duties such as maintaining the members list on webmail%0
