1)	Don’t forget that starting on the November 8th the 45th Annual Chacmool
Conference will be starting with a Welcoming Reception in MacHall Cassio

2)	As part of the conference we are hosting a Department Reception on
November 9th starting at 6:30pm in ES 859. We will have a light lunch and
wine and beer for sale. This is an excellent networking opportunity! Hope
to see you there.

3)	If you are interested in learning more about field school options, you
may want to attend this workshop on November 23rd in ES 859. More
information and sign up sheet to come.

4)	Noon Hour Lecture: Photography in Modern Archaeology: Challenges and
Technology, presented by Jillian Rose Logee – Nov. 7 in ES 859.

5)	Did you know that there is a Librarian who will help out archaeology
students in particular? Her name is Saundra Lipton. If you have any
library related questions such as where do you find that 200 year old text
with the only information in the world that will help you finish your
paper – give her a call she can get you on the right track. Her email is

	As the co-editors for TOTEM: The University of Western Ontario Journal of
	Anthropology, we would like to invite your graduate and undergraduate
	students to contribute to the 21st edition.  This is a great opportunity
for 	students to gain experience with the peer-review publication process
and 	encourage the submission of exceptional works of creative and
original 	research.
	The deadline for paper submission is January 11, 2013. Guidelines for
	submission and information about TOTEM are attached.
