Dear colleagues,
We are excited to announce the publication of the final issue of Work Organisation, Labour and Globalisation, Control, Survival, Struggle: Rethinking and Renewing Vincent Mosco’s Political Economy of Communication: https://www.scienceopen.com/journal-issue?id=57d694e5-1f8b-4ceb-89af-db7c409fc92b.
Edited by Ursula Huws, Catherine McKercher, Nicole Cohen and Leslie Regan Shade, the issue contains 30 articles, many by CCA community members, that demonstrate the relevance of Vincent Mosco’s concepts and framework for understanding the new world order.
Articles in this special issue explore Mosco's remarkable intellectual legacy: his theoretical innovations in political economy, including his foundational role in the development of the political economy of communication; his contributions to teaching, research, mentorship and praxis; his material analysis of media labour; his identification of risks associated with digitalisation; his prescience about the implications of AI; and his focus on the need to imagine concrete utopias as ways to make a better world.
The issue is open access and all articles are free to read. We hope this issue will be helpful in your research and teaching.
All the best,
Nicole, Leslie, Cathy and Ursula
