Dear Sir, Madam,

On behalf of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Montreal, I am pleased to convey to you an invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The Ministry is inviting ten Canadian researchers and think tank experts, recognized in the fields of security and global and regional strategies, Canada–China relations, U.S.–Canada relations, and economic development, to visit Taiwan for a one-week program. This year, the visit will take place from July 19 to July 25, 2026. The delegation will arrive in Taiwan on July 19 and depart for Canada on July 25.

In addition to providing a round-trip business-class airfare between the participants’ place of residence in Canada and Taiwan (economy class for domestic flights), the Ministry will also cover accommodation, meals, and local transportation expenses. Logistical arrangements will be coordinated by our office in Ottawa, and the visit program will be organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in accordance with the participants’ professional backgrounds and areas of interest.

This visit represents an exceptional opportunity to gain first-hand insights through meetings with Taiwanese government officials, representatives of think tanks and NGOs, as well as scholars from academic institutions and research centers. We would be delighted to count you among the members of this delegation.

I would be grateful if you could kindly respond to this invitation by March 12, 2026. Upon your acceptance, we will submit our recommendation to the MOFA. Please note that the final decision rests with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you wish to participate in the delegation, I would appreciate it if you could complete the attached CV form in English and provide a brief biography in English.
