Fresh off a nomination for Best Feature-Length Documentary at the 2025 Canadian Screen Awards and an international festival run spanning three continents and six awards, Analogue Revolution: How Feminist Media Changed the World is set for a special screening at TIFF Lightbox on Tuesday, June 17 at 7:00 PM.
Immediately following the screening, TIFF will host a panel discussion: The Feminist Gaze: Media, Archives, Activism featuring Dr. Marusya Bociurkiw (director of the film), acclaimed filmmaker Min Sook Lee, Cree media artist Theo Cuthand, and TV story editor Donna Gollan.
This timely documentary traces how feminist media-makers in Canada helped to legalize abortion, achieve equal pay, and transform the media landscape.
Narrated by the iconic Carole Pope, the film highlights the groundbreaking work of Canadian feminists like Judy Rebick, Sylvia Hamilton, Susan G. Cole, and Bonnie Sherr Klein, who challenged sexism in the media and built a highly networked communications movement that anticipated the internet.
You can catch the film at TIFF Lightbox, 350 King St. W., on Tuesday, June 17 at 7:00 PM.
