We are excited to announce an opportunity to join the Faculty of Arts - Media Technology Studies (MTS) at the University of Alberta. We are currently seeking applications for a term Lecturer in Media Theory, a role critical to our undergraduate Media Studies program.

This position involves teaching one section of MST 200 Media Theory during the Fall 2025 term. The course is delivered in-person with 3 hours of instructional time per week.

About the Role:

As a Lecturer, you will contribute to the vibrant academic environment within Media and Technology Studies, an area actively engaged in a wide range of media research, including media theory, media cultures and industries, and media-related research methods. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our students and contribute to the university's mission.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess a PhD or are all-but-dissertation (ABD) in Media and Communication Studies or a related field. We will also consider applicants with a terminal master's degree in Media and Communication Studies or a related field, accompanied by relevant post-secondary teaching experience.
