Dear friends and colleagues,

I hope you're all well in these difficult times.

I'm writing to share the news that my first book, Slow Disturbance: Infrastructural Mediation on the Settler Colonial Resource Frontier (dukeupress.edu/slow-disturbance<https://can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdukeupress.edu%2Fslow-disturbance&data=04%7C01%7Crruiz%40cca.qc.ca%7Cf2b89dbcec0b4949467e08d90654a40f%7C4e72076180cf4800ad14ca034727386b%7C0%7C0%7C637547783461663317%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=9JkJfIUPx44L2MlaNHrp3qqOtwO6fDXfNGFHlGsWPqI%3D&reserved=0>), has just recently been published by Duke University Press.

The book emerged from my dissertation work at McGill, and so I wanted to express deep thanks to so many CCA friends and colleagues (Darin Barney, Jody Berland, Jonathan Sterne, Will Straw, and many many others) for helping it along the way.

I would be delighted to have the opportunity to engage with undergraduate and graduate students around the questions raised by the book, foremost amongst these how settler infrastructure building persists across 'resource frontiers.' If this might be of interest please contact me off list at: rruiz at cca.qc.ca<mailto:rruiz at cca.qc.ca>

The release of the book fortuitously coincides with Duke's 50% off spring sale.

Coupon code is below as well.

With best wishes,
Rafico
