About algebraic-geometry-L

This is the official email list for the Algebraic Geometry Seminar and related activities at the University of Calgary.

This Term (Fall 2015) the Algebraic Geometry Seminar will meet every second Wednesday from 12:30 to 14:00, in MS 522, beginning September 16th. Our goal for this very informal seminar is to get to know stacks, especially (though not exclusively) as they appear in algebraic geometry. We will begin by reviewing basic properties of the category of schemes, so that when we discuss Grothendieck topologies, sites, fibred categories and stacks in complete generality, we can refer back to the category of schemes for examples. Topics will be presented by me and my students (Majid, Sam, Ayman) and anyone else who is willing. Our main references will be:
