[ENCI-l] Update! Extended Registration DDL for CSCE Popsicle Sticks Bridge Competition

Hi All,

We are excited to announce that the Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition is now open to engineering students of all disciplines. We have also extended the registration deadline to February 17th, providing ample time for all interested students to register and receive their materials kit.

The competition will still take place on March 2nd, from 5pm to 8pm at the Engineering Building Atrium, and promises to be an exciting event that includes a FREE dinner, a presentation by WSP on the 9th Ave Bridge Project, and a valuable networking opportunity!

We would also like to clarify one of the competition testing rules which states that "The vertical members of the testing frame cannot be used as lateral supports." This means that the bridge must be self-supporting; it is prohibited to use the testing frame as a component of the bridge design to prevent the bridge from collapsing or to provide lateral support to enhance the overall structural performance of the bridge. We would like to remind participants again that while the sticks can be angled, they cannot be cut or split.

We encourage all students to participate and have fun. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your engineering skills and creativity in the annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition but without the added pressure of writing a report. Don't miss out!
