ENGO 699 Fundamentals of Infrastructure Asset Management and Sustainability course description:
Sustainable infrastructure development ensures that new infrastructure built today considers future changes in societal needs and is resilient to changes in environment. It also means that accommodation for future maintenance is considered when planning new developments. In this course, we introduce common concepts and frameworks in Infrastructure Asset Management which allow asset managers to optimize their planning and operations. Topics discussed include international standards and guidelines in Asset Management and Sustainable Project Delivery, effective consultation of stakeholders when developing infrastructure, monitoring and assessment of asset condition and how to link these to service delivery outcomes. In addition, the process of establishing asset management plans and inventories is explored, along with how these plans tie into ongoing performance monitoring, financial reporting and operational risk mitigation.
