Hey Civil Students,
The UofC's Troitsky Bridge Building Team is on the lookout for the executive team for Troitsky 2021 . The Troitsky Bridge Building Competition is an event hosted by the University of Concordia in Montreal, Quebec. Every year in March, Universities from across Canada compete to build the most efficient bridge design within the allowed dimensions. The competition encourages innovation by restricting the bridge to be constructed only out of popsicle sticks, white glue, and dental floss. We aren't talking about small bridges which you can pick up with one hand, we are talking about massive bridges over a meter long, weighing 6 kilograms. Take a look at some of the brides that were entered last year by the University of Calgary team:

In addition to traveling to Montreal at a subsidized fee, this is a great leadership opportunity to be on the executive team and take on leadership roles while developing teamwork skills and applying classroom knowledge in a practical situation. Not only does this look great on a resume, it is a great talking point during interviews.
The duties for each of these roles are as follows:
* Project Manager
* Communication Executive
* Logistics Manager
*Note: All Execs need to participate in the competition and must be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate engineering program at the University of Calgary
If you are interested, please send an email to cbridgeuofc at gmail.com<mailto:cbridgeuofc at gmail.com> with the header including your name and rank the positions you are interested in from 1-3 (1 being most desired and 3 being the least desired). Also include a short description of the following in your email:
* Current academic year
* Prior experiences
* Reason for joining the club
Applications will be closed on Friday, September 18th at 11:00 PM
If you would like to participate, and are not interested in being an executive, there will be another application open later this semester, be on the lookout!
