 Hello everyone,
We are very pleased to invite you to our next UofC ITE Student Chapter event.
Event speaker: John D. Hunt, PhD(cantab), PEng, Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary
Event title: ASET: The Spatial Economic Transport Model of Alberta
Event description: Alberta Transportation sponsored the development of ASET over a period of more than three years ending in 2019. It is based on the PECAS spatial economic modelling framework and related software. It includes simulations of the transportation system and the economic system and their interactions over time, covering the entire Province. It uses an activity-based microsimulation of travel and transportation demand and a parcel-by-parcel microsimulation of developer actions in the establishment of buildings and infrastructure – enabling a rich and comprehensive analysis of the combined impacts of policy actions regarding transportation, land use and the economy on all three of these systems. The talk will cover the structure of ASET and issues in its development and the interpretation of its results.
When: Wednesday, 27th November from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
Where: CCIT 209
Lunch and coffee will be provided.
Looking forward to meeting you all!
