[ENCI-l] DIALOG Structural Design Scholarship Competition

[Students in Civil Engineering Undergraduate Program]

Hey Civils!

The DIALOG Structural Design Scholarship Competition is a structural design competition for those is third and fourth year. It consists of designing a bridge out of a limited amount of specified material to satisfy specified criteria. Teams can win up to $7600 and can get up to a 5% bonus in marks for ENCI 461/551. Teams of any size are available to register, however please check in with your professor for ENCI 461/551 in advance on their team size requirements for the potential bonus marks.

Important key dates:

  *   October 25: Finished bridge model and final report are due to the Civil Engineering Office (ENF 262) by end of day
  *   October 30: Testing day at the Engineering Social Staircase
  *   November 13: Presentations for finalist teams at DIALOG's studio

The material kits for the competition are now available for pick up at the Civil Engineering Office (ENF 262) with a $20 deposit.

The manual for the bridge competition has been attached to this email along with the presentation slides from the information session.
