Hello Civies,

Get excited for CEUS' newest event, the overnight snowshoe trip! There are only 18 spots available for this trip so make sure to reserve your spot early by e-transferring civilsnowshoe2018 at gmail.com or paying a CEUS Member. The trip is $55 or $45 if you have an alpine club of Canada membership (please provide your account number) and available to CEUS Members first. Our info session night will be on Wednesday, November 28th, in ENF 325.

We will be leaving Calgary on December 1st around 9 am, driving to Lake O'hara, then snowshoeing 3 hours to a cabin. Dinner and Breakfast will be provided, so you basically only really need a sleeping bag. There are a few other things you'll need, so see below for the details:

- Timing: we will be leaving Calgary on Dec. 1 about 9:00am, which will put us on the trails by 11am, and at the Cabin for roughly 3pm. On Dec. 2 we will leave the cabin whenever we manage to wake ourselves and get back to calgary roughly 4-5 hours later

-Sleeping Bag: it'll probably be cold after the fire goes out so bring a warm one. You'll need a pillow too if you don't want to use your clothes (don't bring a huge pillow, just a little one)

- Food: Dinner (Pesto Pasta) and Breakfast (Pancakes) will be provided, so all you need is lunch on the way to the cabin and lunch on the way back (along with any snacks you may want)

- Snowshoes: You're not going to want to do this in your runners, there will likely be a fair bit of snow. Wear hiking or snow boots and rent snowshoes from the outdoor centre using your $25 credit

- Transport: Carpooling will be arranged at the information session

- Toilet Paper: Bring your own

- Warm Clothes: Its gonna be cold outside. Also going to need athletic clothes for the hike in.

- Slippers or flipflops for in the hut.

- Some sort of flashlight

- General Camping stuff (such as your toiletries, hand sanitizer, first aid kit if you have one otherwise i do)

- Cardgames or other entertainment items if you would like

Firewood, Propane, and water (ice melt) is all provided at the hut so no need to worry about that.
