Good day!
The study abroad office has a new internship available for 3rd and 4th year students. It's mainly for Civil students, but I've been told any engineering discipline can apply, and six students can be selected for this opportunity. If selected, you will spend the summer working in Sri Lanka, with a scholarship to support it, through the QES Program. Dr. Janaka Ruwanpura and Dr. Chan Wirasinghe are from Sri Lanka, both professors in Civil Engineering (aside from their other distinguished duties), and I know they would be thrilled to know that students are interested in this unique opportunity. Please see below for the link to more information, and the areas of research, which include Geotechnical engineering, transport and logistics, highway engineering, and disaster management and transportation research.

This internship closes on February 28th, so act fast! It was only finalized recently, so apologies if it feels like not enough time. If you've applied for another exchange or summer internship and are waiting on the results, I still suggest you apply if you are interested.
This is a fantastic way to get work experience in an international setting. Any questions should be directed to Tara Jorgensen tjorgens at ucalgary.ca<mailto:tjorgens at ucalgary.ca>
All the best,
Kristal
