CSCE Calgary Chapter is excited to invite you to our upcoming event.

Foundation Excavation of Telus Sky Highrise Building in Downtown Calgary

The discussion will be a brief history of the company and the number of excavations they have done in downtown Calgary. The experience they have drawn upon to address both bigger footprints and deeper digs in downtown Calgary dealing with increased traffic, pedestrians, the  LRT platform and client schedules.   For the specific Telus Sky project Mr. Gryckiewicz and Mr. Logue will detail where the idea for the clam came from, where the actual clam came from, the hopper and modifications required, testing both off site, the mobilization on site and the actual productions.  There have been a few setbacks which also will be discussed and the future potential for this "old school" technology.

Jan is CEO of Professional Excavators Ltd., an employee owned, full-service heavy construction company which has provided civil and commercial services in the Calgary area since 1975. After graduating from the British Columbia Institute of Technology Jan joined, the then family owned business, as an estimator in 1983. His career has been spent in various management positions with Professional Excavators, where he gained valuable hands-on experience in field operations, business development and corporate affairs. Jan is actively involved with numerous educational and charitable endeavors within the City of Calgary where he resides with his family.
