The course coordinator has made arrangements with the departments and the undergraduate office so that those approved be registered by the office. This way there will be no need for the students to get the paperwork from their department and the signatures etc. If you have started to get the department registration paperwork, please still fill in this google form anyway. You do not need to do continue with your department registration paperwork. Other information about the course: 1-You either take the multidisciplinary capstone or your department's regular capstone-not both. 2- You must take both ENGG 501 in Fall and ENGG 502 in Winter. 3- The course coordinator is working with the local industry to get projects that have multidisciplinary nature. The projects will be posted on the course web page as soon as they become available. The course coordinator will work with the students in the course to make informed choices for joining the teams. 4- The course coordinator will work with the students to manage any schedule conflicts that they might have. 5- There will be no regular conventional lectures in this course. Instead, the course coordinator will offer engaged learning activities that may or may not have to be done during the scheduled lecture time for the course. If you have any other questions, please contact the course coordinator, Dr. Hamid Zareipour at h.zareipour@ucalgary.ca The link to the form is: http://goo.gl/forms/ca7cC8m39G Thank you, Hamid Zareipour -------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- Hamidreza (Hamid) Zareipour, P.Eng, PhD, SMIEEE, Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary, 2500 University Drive N.W., Calgary, Alberta, Canada T2N 1N4 Telephone: +1-403-210-9516 Office: ICT 345 Web: http://www.ucalgary.ca/hzareipo/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Would you like to take part? This survey should take around 10 minutes. You will be asked to order commonly used terms regarding natural disasters and indicate your rating for given hypothetical scenarios. This is a worldwide survey. Therefore, I would appreciate if you could assist me by answering the questionnaire. Please be kind enough to forward this questionnaire among your friends and contacts as well. Participation is completely voluntary, anonymous and confidential. Any personal identifying information will not be collected in this study. There are no costs or risks to you which are associated with this study. Your contributions to this study will be highly beneficial to define a common global scale for the severity of natural disasters. The University of Calgary Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board has approved this survey. Take the Survey or contact me for more information. Thank you for your co-operation! Would you like to learn how to build cool Lego Mindstorms robots and then help kids learn these skills too? Why? Because you gain hands-on design, building, and programming skills. Then, you get a chance to work on your professional development by helping teams of Schulich volunteers teach kids 6-15 years old how to build their own robots too. All of your volunteer hours (training, preparing, and mentoring the kids) are eligible to count towards your Co-Curricular Record (CCR). Also, it's REALLY FUN. What's the commitment? You have to: * Pass a reference check (2 references), * Attend 3 training sessions (Fridays, 6-8pm in ICT 215 from Oct. 16-30) * Assist with fall youth robotics workshops (Fridays, 5:30-8:30pm in ICT from Nov. 6 - Dec. 4) Interested? Email robots@ucalgary.ca for more information, or register here: https://www.ucalgary.ca/robotics/scrp-volunteer-registration-fall2015 Thanks, The SCRP Team ________________________________ REMINDER: Please do NOT reply to this email as the ENGG mailing list is not configured to reply to individual emails. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... The first offering of this program is scheduled for the beginning of summer 2016. Engineering students will be introduced to Andalusian civilization and contemporary Spanish culture through their coursework in ENGG 393, and by experiencing daily life in the city of M?laga, located in the Costa del Sol. Featuring a Gothic cathedral, museums, narrow pedestrian streets, and shops that range from family owned to urban chic and contemporary, M?laga is tastefully historic. Using M?laga as a base, participants will have the opportunity to travel to Granada, Cordoba, Gibraltar & Seville, to truly understand Spanish culture and architecture. Students will also take ENGG 515, where they will learn fundamental topics in project management, such as planning, scope development, procurement and start-up. The application of these principles to engineering projects, both in Canadian and international settings, will be discussed. Additional details about this new program can be found at http://ucalgary.ca/uci/abroad/gsp/spainengg. If you would like to learn more about how you can participate in this exciting opportunity, please attend an information session at 4 pm on Tuesday January 5, 2016. The session will take place in EEEL 323, and will provide details about this new group study abroad to Spain.
