Attention Civil Engineering and Prospective Civil Engineering Students!
It is that time of the year again where we, the CSCE Student Chapter, are
holding our annual CSCE Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with details of this event, the CSCE
Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition is an event sponsored by industry
professionals, where students design and create their very own popsicle
stick bridge. Bridges will then be tested on how well they perform under
loading situations and graded on their overall design. This is a great
opportunity for you put your wits to the test, and create a bridge that
beats the rest!
Date: November 20, 2014
Location: Machall Ballroom (3rd floor)
Time: 5:30PM – 8:30PM
Cost: $5/group (kit) + $25/person (includes $15 dinner* and $10 CSCE membership**)
Deadline to register for competition: November 7, 2014
Team size: 1-4 people (Max. 4 individuals)
Prizes:
1st Place: $250
2nd Place: $150
3rd Place: $100
Kit pickup and team registration will be done Wed Oct 29th in ENF 316. If you’re unable to pick up the kit and register at this time please contact our Chair, Christina, at ctina.chong at gmail.com<mailto:ctina.chong at gmail.com>.
*A professional/student dinner will be held after the competition.
**NOTE: Only individuals with a CSCE membership will be allowed to participate
in the competition and attend the event. Membership costs $10.50 per person
and registration for membership can be done at the time of kit pickup.
