GRAD BANQUET TICKET SALES

The Iron Ring ceremony and Graduation Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014. The banquet will be held in the evening at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Tickets for the Graduation Banquet will go on sale Monday, February 24, 2014 at 9:00 am in the ESS Office (ENE 132) for $65 each (cash or cheque only. Cheques made out to ESS).
To ensure all graduating students have a chance to attend and due to high demand, there is a limit of 4 tickets per student (yes, that is including yourself). If you need more than 4, please inform the ESS Adminstrator at time of purchase. On-hold tickets will be released on Friday, March 7th 2014.

Tables seat 12 - seats are assigned so if you would like to sit with other Engg students, please let the ESS Administrator know at time of ticket purchase. It's easier if you come in together to buy tickets. (If you are signing friends up, please bring in name, number of tickets needed, department, email address, food restrictions/allergies). If no preference is stated, you will be seated with your department.

GRAD SPEAKERS/HISTORIANS
This year the Graduation Banquet will be held on March 22, 2014. With that date fast approaching, the grad committee is looking for some wonderful people who are interested in participating in the ceremonies.

We are looking to fill the following positions:

Master of Ceremonies - 1 guy and 1 girl (preferably from different departments and to audition together) to introduce each speaker and make announcements.
Professor Award Presenter - 1 student for each department to present the professor award to the chosen professor.
Toast to the Parents - 1 student to deliver a toast to the parents.
Toast to the Professors - 1 or 2 students to deliver a toast to the professors.
Toast to the Volunteers - 1 or 2 students to deliver a toast to all of the volunteers.
Class Historians - 1 or 2 students per department to reflect on the fun/joys/hardships/suffering of the past 4, 5, 6, or more, years in an entertaining (but professional) way. Presentations are often made in the form of power point, video, or just a slide show.

Auditions will take place on March 5, 2014 between 6pm and 8pm. More specific information will be given once people have volunteered. Just to note, by replying to this email you are only showing interest and are not committing to nor are you guaranteed any of the positions.

Also, if you are interested in participating but have forgotten how to write in English after all those math classes, don’t worry! There will be lots of people to help you. This is our last event before we are done school, so get involved and make it an event to remember!
