Dear Students,
Please note a new regulation taking effect at the beginning of the Fall 2013
session: "To register in an undergraduate course delivered by the Schulich
School of Engineering, a student must have obtained a grade of at least "C-"
or better in each prerequisite course. Prior to Fall 2013 "D" and "D+"
grades were acceptable as prerequisites (except when such grades meant that
credit would not be given for the course under Student Standing
regulations). If a student obtained a "D" or "D+" in a course in Summer 2013
or earlier (and is not required by Student Standing regulations to repeat
the course), the grade in that course will be considered acceptable in
courses for which it is a prerequisite."
D/D+ received in any course that is pre-requisite for a subsequent course in
Winter 2014 or in any later semester will have to be repeated and a min. C-
grade received before it can be used as a pre-requisite.
The Undergraduate Studies Office staff is going to monitor Fall2013
semester's final grades but it is ultimately the individual students'
responsibility to drop all subsequent courses in Winter 2014 or later if
they fail to receive a minimum C- in any pre-requisite course in Fall 2013.
Please refer to the new pre-requisite requirement under the enclosed link:
