Registration information for students in upper year and minor placement
results

Dear Student:

We are pleased to inform you that the June 2013 minor program placement has
been completed. 

How to find your program:

In order to find whether you have been admitted into the minor program you
have applied for in Fall 2013, please sign on to your Student Centre. Scroll
down to the bottom of the page, under Admissions, click on the Change of
Program link.

Students applied for changing their major:

Decisions for students who applied for transferring between engineering
major programs with very different requirements, have already been made,
e.g. from Electrical Engineering to Chemical Engineering, etc. The new major
program has already been posted.  Decisions for students who applied to
switch between major programs with similar requirements have not been made
yet. We are going to send out a separate e-mail to those students later this
week with more detailed information when they can expect results.

You may begin registering in your courses as of your Enrollment Appointment
Date and time as indicated in your online Student Center. 

Please note that all continuing students must register in both their Fall
2013 and Winter 2014 courses by July 15th to confirm their attendance for
the 2013/2014 academic year. Space in your program and/or in the courses of
your program will not be guaranteed after this date. The July 15th date will
be strictly enforced for technical engineering courses.

If you are going into your final year we recommend that you discuss your
registration with your program director to ensure that you enroll in all of
your appropriate required courses so as to be ready for graduation.

Please note that our university's registration system requires students to
register one course at a time. PeopleSoft may malfunction if more than one
course is submitted from the shopping cart during registration, and this may
result in the system enrolling students either with time conflicts, or
allowing registration in courses without having the proper pre-requisites
completed, etc. A time conflict between the lectures of two courses will
also likely result in conflicting final exams at the end of the term.

It is ultimately the students' responsibility to enroll only in courses for
which they possess a successfully completed pre-requisite, and with the
proper time conflict approval. If it is detected at any time during the
semester that a student takes course/s without the proper pre-requisite(s)
without approval, they will be removed from the course regardless of the
reason why the unacceptable registration happened.

We are still working on putting together the 2013/2014 curriculum sheets and
they will be available at:

meantime you need to refer to the program requirements of the University
Calendar, under the above link.

Please check your schedule into the second and third week of classes to see
all labs. Odd numbered labs may not appear in your timetable until the third
week.

If you find that a course you require is full or you have other difficulties
with registration, please contact our office for assistance. 

Students must register in their lower level courses before registering in
next year's courses. Only a C- grade is acceptable on any second attempt
regardless what the reason is for your having to repeat a course. 

New academic regulation taking effect in Fall 2013

Please note a new regulation taking effect at the beginning of the Fall 2013
session: "To register in an undergraduate course delivered by the Schulich
School of Engineering, a student must have obtained a grade of at least "C-"
or better in each prerequisite course. Prior to Fall 2013 "D" and "D+"
grades were acceptable as prerequisites (except when such grades meant that
credit would not be given for the course under Student Standing
regulations). If a student obtained a "D" or "D+" in a course in Summer 2013
or earlier (and is not required by Student Standing regulations to repeat
the course), the grade in that course will be considered acceptable in
courses for which it is a prerequisite."
