Subject: GRADUATION BANQUET - After-party hotel arrangements

Hi there,

This email is regarding hotel arrangements for anyone interested in staying
at a hotel downtown after Saturday's Engineering Graduation Banquet. If you
are interested, keep reading...

WHO: Open to anyone who is interested! You still assemble your own group of
four people (or however many you want) and book your own room(s) directly
through the hotel (and pay directly)
Note: This is being organized separately by students, and is not an ESS or
Graduation Committee organized event. 

WHAT: Group arrangement with the hotel (so that rooms are all in the same
area of the hotel, and at a reduced cost)

WHY: Iron ring festivities conclude around 3:30 p.m., and we need to be back
at the banquet at 5:30 p.m. This does not leave much time to make it home,
change clothes and get ready for the formal evening. As such, a number of
students are booking hotel rooms at the Marriott hotel to: 
a) change clothes between events
b) stop by for a 'break' after the dinner banquet and before the after-party
c) continue the party after Vinyl closes!

HOW MUCH: $30 per person in a four bedroom room at maximum capacity. It
costs $119 per standard room with two double beds with the group rate. If
you want a two person room it is still $119 for the room.

WHERE: Marriott Hotel downtown (in the same general complex as the Telus
Convention Center and the Hyatt, but cheaper than the Hyatt!)

WHEN: Saturday, March 24 (overnight)
Realistically, the day's activities begin quite early and so we will not be
able to check into our rooms before the morning workshop to unpack our
things. The Marriott is happy to store baggage (overnight bags, beverages in
suitcases -> please ensure all alcohol is properly concealed in closed bags
i.e. backpacks or suitcases, and not exposed while being stored) for the
morning until we make it back after Iron Ring to check in in the afternoon.
You may also choose to leave things in your car and pick them up before you
check in.

Double check that the group code CEGCEGA is entered, change the room
capacity to four (or however many you wish, up to four people is the same
price per room).
PHONE: Call and ask to book as part of the 'University of Calgary
Engineering Graduation Group.' Cite the group code of CEGCEGA to ensure you
are booked in the reserved block and get the $119 price. 

The more the merrier on this so I encourage students to come out and
celebrate finally earning our Iron Rings!
