Subject: Mock Interview sign up - starting tomorrow Wednesday October 19,
2011

 

The Engineering Career Center is hosting Mock Interviews for Engineering
students who are seeking summer, internship, and new graduate positions.
All of the Mock Interview sessions will be conducted by Industry Recruitment
Personnel in the month of November, 2011.  This is a great opportunity for
you to gain interview experience and receive constructive feedbacks on your
interview skills within a risk free environment.  Internship students are
given a day in advance to sign up, starting on Wednesday October 19, 2011.
Students who are not in the internship program will be able to sign up
starting on Thursday October 20, 2011.

 

When:

.         Tuesday November 1st to Wednesday November 30th - 9:00am-4:30pm

.         There will be no sessions on: Thursday November 10th and Friday
November 11th

.         There will be only morning sessions on Fridays November 4th, 18th,
and 25th.

 

Where:

.         Engineering Internship office - ENC 118

 

Who:

.         Halsall Associate - Nov 1st, 28th  (4th students looking for new
graduate positions only)

.         Bird Constructions - Nov 2nd 

.         AMEC - Nov 3rd, 4th, and 24th

.         Lafarge - Nov 7th 

.         EllisDon Construction Services - Nov 8th (3rd/4th students looking
for internship and new graduate positions only) 

.         PCL - Nov 14th 

.         Devon Canada Corporation - Nov 16th 

.         Spartan Controls Ltd. - Nov 17th  and 18th 

.         Smart Technologies - Nov 18th (4th students looking for new
graduate positions only)

.         Mentor Engineering - Nov 23rd (2 sessions - 3rd/4th students
looking for internship and new graduate positions only)

.         TransCanada - Nov 25th 

.         WorleyParsons Canada - Nov. 30th 

 

Format:

.         There are 8 interviews scheduled for each day and each interview
is 45 minutes


9:00 - 9:45

1:30 - 2:15


9:45 - 10:30

2:15 - 3:00


10:30 - 11:15

3:00 - 3:45


11:15 - 12:00

3:45 - 4:30

 

 

 

 

 

.         Interviews will be broken down into 15-20 minutes for the
interviewer to ask questions, 10-15 minutes for the interviewee to ask
questions about the company, and 10-15 minutes is for interviewer to provide
constructive feedbacks to the interviewee

.         Students are expected to do research about each company that they
are interviewing with, in order for the student to ask meaningful questions
to the interviewer during the interview

.         It is also advised for students to prepare as if the mock
interview is a real interview that they are going to

 

Sign Up:

.         ENC 118 - 8:30am - 4:30pm, starting on Wednesday October 19, 2011.

.         Available spots will be given at a first come first serve basis

.         Please make sure you bring a copy of your completed resume at the
time of sign up.  Important Note: Students who do not have a completed
resume will not be allowed to sign up for the mock interviews!  A copy of
your resume will be sent to the employer ahead of time.  **By signing up for
an interview, you are giving us permission to collect and distribute your
resume to your interviewer.

.         Please come in and check the mock interview schedule for
availability.  If the sign up is full, a waiting list will be started.  We
will use this waiting list to fill any changes or cancellations.

.         Out of professional courtesy to the employers, cancellations or
change to the appointments must be made 48 hours in advance.  A penalty will
be assessed if there is no show and we did not get a notification 48 hours
before the interview.
