TO ALL 4TH/5TH YEAR ENGG STUDENTS:

Dear Graduating Students,
We are officially less than 100 hours away from getting our Iron Rings, and
as Saturday approaches many people are still wondering, what exactly is
going on Saturday, April 2nd?
So here's what you need to know:

8:15am-12pm - APEGGA Workshops (Telus Convention Center - Exhibition Hall,
North Building Upper Level). A more detailed schedule is provided in the
package given to you when you registered for the Iron Ring at the Undergrad
Office, also remember to bring your filled out application (also in the
package).

12pm-1pm - Free Lunch provided by APEGGA for all who attended the workshops
(Telus Convention Center)

1 pm - Meet up with your guests in the Exhibition Hall pre-function area

1:30pm - IRON RING CEREMONY (Telus Convention Center Exhibition Hall E)

2:30pm - Right after the ceremony a photographer will be taking group
pictures of the departments (an announcement will be made at the ceremony)

After Group Photos up to 5:30pm - Free Time. This is your time to go home
and change if you're wearing something different for the banquet.

5:30-6:15pm - Cocktails and EWB Art Auction: Cash Bar (Hyatt Regency
Calgary)
EWB will have a auction of many valuable and beautiful pieces of art
donated by local artists. Bring your cash and chequebooks!

Please print and bring your email confirmation with you to the banquet.
If you have not received it, contact Shaila at ess at ucalgary.ca immediately.
6:15pm-6:30pm - Doors open for the Banquet (Hyatt Regency Calgary)

6:30pm-10pm - 2011 Graduation Banquet (Hyatt Regency Calgary)
Group pictures of the Departments will be taken again at the Banquet. An
announcement will be made at the event)

10pm -10:30pm - Two Buses will be leaving from the Hyatt Regency Calgary to
The Mansion where the aftergrad will take place. You can walk to The Mansion
if you don't want to wait for buses, it's a short walk.

Here are answers to some other FAQs:

What do parents go to?
Parents can go to the Iron Ring Ceremony at 1:30pm (no ticket required) and
the banquet at 5:30pm (given you got tickets for them). The workshops in the
morning are for students only. Also be advised that if your parents are late
for the Iron Ring Ceremony they will not be let into the room. Once they
close the doors they won't open them until the ceremony is over so BE THERE
EARLY!

What's happening with after grad tickets?
You get one free aftergrad ticket for each banquet ticket you bought, and
these will be given to you at the banquet. They're good for no line no cover
until 11pm and include one free drink. If you didn't purchase banquet
tickets or would like to invite more guests, we have extras available in ESS
for $5.

- Hope that clears up any confusion and that you all know now where
to go!

- On behalf of the 2011 Graduation Committee we want to extend our
congratulations to everyone for making it all the way here. Enjoy the
banquet safely, and please drink responsibly.
