Nexen Wind Technologies Lunch & Learn
 
The Petroleum & Energy Society (PES) will be hosting Tim Benko from Nexen as
he discusses Wind Energy and Nexen's initiatives in the field. This is a
fantastic opportunity to learn about alternative energy, new technologies
and career opportunities related to this resource. Lunch will be provided. 
 
When:   Tuesday October 12, 2010 
             12:00-1:00pm
Where: Cassio A - MacEwan Hall
 
 
Nexen Soderglen Windfarm Tour
 

On Friday October 15th PES will be hosting its first industry tour of the
Fall 2010 Semester to the Nexen Soderglen Wind Farm in Fort McCloud, AB.  We
will be taking the full day to travel to Fort McCloud and tour Nexen's wind
farm which will give students the opportunity to learn first hand about an
increasingly important renewable form of energy.

 

Students that are interested will be asked to bring a $20 deposit (which
will be returned as long as you show up for the tour) to the ESS Office and
fill out a sign-up form starting Tuesday October 5.  There will only be 20
students able to attend this event and sign-up will be done on a first come
first serve basis. Lunch will be provided. A detailed itinerary will be sent
to participating students. Any questions about this event can be directed to
Taylor Brown at taylorjohnbrown at gmail.com. Current details are as follows:
