EWB Events Coming Up

Hello Engineers!

Engineers Without Borders is a Canadian Non-Profit Organization which is
working to build a world of opportunity for Rural Africans through a variety
of methods both in Canada and in Africa. We have several events coming up
and encourage anyone who is interested to drop by and ask questions. You can
always EWB through email at ucalgary at ewb.ca.

Year Opening Meeting: September 22 6pm 
Come out to SA 121 to learn about EWB and get some free food!

(There is also a recap meeting in ICT 114  September 23 at noon but no food
will be served.)

Ethical Choices Panel September 23 6pm

Want to know how you can buy that awesome pair of pants AND contribute
positively to local and global communities? Ever wondered what "Fair Trade"
and "ethical trade" actually mean? Do you want to know how your everyday
purchases can be used to help tackle global issues such as extreme poverty
and climate change? Then come out to ICT 114 at 6:00 pm for an exciting
panel discussion featuring social entrepreneurs, field workers, and
professors. Light refreshments will be served.

Welcome Retreat September 25/26th - 30 spots available

 Ready to learn more about EWB? Interested in a weekend full of leadership
development, awesome people, and fun? Did we mention this event is in
CANMORE! Get out of town for the weekend with EWB! New Members and Old
Members are welcome to come out. The cost will be $10.00 and we will leave
from campus at 10:00 am on Saturday Morning. We will return Sunday at noon.

September 28 6pm- Presentations from two UofC Students who worked in Burkina
Faso and Zambia this summer.

October 4 6pm ICT 116 - Guest Lecture from Naheed Nenshi (current Mayoral
candidate) on the importance of Engineering Leadership in the 21st Century.
