TO ALL ENGG STUDENTS:
Welcome back everyone to another great year at the University of
Calgary. The Institute of Sustainable Energy, Environment and
Economy Students' Association (ISEEESA) is already hard at work to
provide programs to enhance your university experience. ISEEESA is
happy to announce their annual Energy, Environment and Economy
Development Program (E3DP) will kick off in early October, and we
are urging everyone to submit their application now, as space is limited
within the program.
E3DP attracts the top students from the University of Calgary ranging
from all faculties of studies. The program consists of three
educational seminars, each one focusing on one of the three "E's." A
fourth seminar concludes the program and engages students in an
interactive case competition, based on the knowledge they gained
throughout the program. This year, in addition to the four sessions,
we have added a mock carbon trading game and mentorship programs. The
goal of this program is to provide collaborative sessions where
the speakers build off of each other, providing opportunities for
students and presenters to experience varying view points of
critical issues and current events.
We strive to bring in the highest caliber of speakers and are very happy
to announce that Dr. David Keith and Dr. Bob Paige will be
speaking at the Environment seminar on October 2, 2010. Please note that
in order to maintain the high quality and intimacy of the
program there is limited space. Selected participants will attend four
seminars throughout the academic year and be introduced to a
range of diverse topics including renewable industrial projects, carbon
capture and storage, and emission regulations and controls.
Selected participants will be paired with a mentor from the Calgary
corporate community that will provide them with assistants in their
development and career planning, and an opportunity to build contacts
within Calgary's business community. **
