[ENCI-l] EIC Gold Medal Application, Students graduating in June 2009, URGENT!!

TO FOURTH YEAR STUDENTS GRADUATING IN JUNE 2009

RE: EIC ENGINEERING STUDENT OF THE YEAR MEDAL

The EIC medal is awarded annually to a graduating student (June 2009) in
Engineering and is based on the following criteria: 

*Academic merit = 50%
*Demonstrated technical or practical aptitude = 25%
*Extra-curricular activities = 25%

The Academic 2009 merit will be decided upon the basis of final grades for
the Fall 2007/Winter2008, Fall 2008/Winter 2009 academic years and a minimum
GPA of 3.50 in each year is required. Students are only eligible if they
took at least 8 half course equivalents in the respective fall/winter terms.


For students who were on Internship in Fall 2007/Winter 2008, the final
grades for the Fall 2006/Winter2007, Fall 2008/Winter 2009 will be used for
the calculation. 

If you believe you meet the above criteria and wish to be considered for
this award please apply in writing to Suzanne Dauner, Undergraduate Studies
Office C204 by the firm deadline of noon, May 8th. 


Please submit your application in a 'résumé format', providing information
on the three areas: 

(Academic merit, Technical or Practical aptitude, and Extra-curricular
activities). 

A committee will determine the recipient of the award.  All information
provided will be kept in confidence.
