Hello Students and faculty of civil engineering,
This year at the Schulich School of Engineering all the department student
society's have bonded around an initative started by the Petroleum and
Energy Society called "Geering Up for Christmas". Essentially, each
department is striving to collect the most shoeboxes for Operation Christmas
Child with a collection deadline of November 26th. For more information on
Operation Christmas Child please visit www.samaritanspurse.ca.
How can you help? There is a variety of ways:
(a) Bring in donations for the shoeboxes to the 3rd Floor Civil Engineering,
a Christmas tree is set-up in the hallway with a collection bin
underneath. A list of reccomended items can be seen on
www.samaritanspurse.ca
(b) Contribute cash donations to pay for the shipping/handling
($7.00/box) of the shoeboxes when they are sent overseas and around the
world. A collection tub is set-up in the Civil Engineering Main Office on
the 2nd Floor F-block to collect donations.
(c) Put together a shoebox yourself, and drop it off on the 3rd Floor
F-block beside the Christmas tree.
Anything you can do to help CEUS make the holidays a little brighter for
many under-privelaged children around the world is very appreciated.
Remember the collection deadline is November 26th, and any questions can be
addressed to ceus at ucalgary.ca.
Thank you, and Happy (early) Holidays on behalf of the Civil Engineering
Undergraduate Society.
