my apologies if you have already received this message, or if you have 
not received it at all before now.
This Saturday, the 12th SSE Alumni Dinner, is being held in honour of 
our fearless leader Tom Brown.

_You will all soon be a member of the SSE Alumni!  Therefore, on behalf 
of the SSE Alumni Executive, I would like to invite you to attend this 
event. _
*Students can attend for the reduced price of $20 per person!!!*
It should be a fun event as we roast our department head.
The venue is the Big Rock Grill and we need to pack the house!!!

PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE THE END OF TODAY.
If you cannot register today and wish to register tomorrow, you may 
still be able to do so.

    12th Annual Alumni Dinner - Dr. Tom Brown Roast

Time is running out to register for this event!

At the end of the 2007/2008 academic semester, Dr. Brown will be 
completing his term as Head of the Department of Civil Engineering.

Dr. Tom Brown has been a mainstay at the University of Calgary for over 
two decades. His career has been highlighted by his involvement in 
research, graduate and undergraduate teaching – and inspiration. Ask any 
of his students about him and they will likely respond with a fire in 
their eyes reminiscent of Dr. Brown himself, as this has been his 
trademark for his entire career.

Dr. Brown has influenced many students, alumni, faculty, staff, and 
clients with his spirit and passion for the engineering profession. More 
than just a teacher, Dr. Brown has been involved with major research 
projects from the cutting edge of ice engineering on a major Canadian 
landmark to his many years of consulting within structural engineering – 
what he calls “the only real engineering.”

The fact is, spirit can transcend departments. For 23 years, Dr. Brown 
has been similar to a substance he likely never used during his 
illustrious Civil Engineering career – glue. His attitude towards 
fostering successful students at a young age and representing the 
University of Calgary throughout the world is a beacon of encouragement 
for the past, present and future.

In celebration of Dr. Brown’s distinguished career, you are cordially 
invited to the “Tom Brown Roast” on Saturday, April 5th.
