Engineering Students wanted for fast-moving high-profile project at
University of Calgary
Students needed for a fast moving project to construct and test a packed
tower scrubber for removing CO2 from the air. The technology involves wet
scrubbing with caustic solution in a custom ~6 m tall contacting tower now
under design with construction set to begin in March. The system will be
the centerpiece of an upcoming international Discovery Channel production.
There are opportunities for additional commercial development of the
technology and significant (international) interest as demonstrated by the
$25 million Virgin Earth Challenge competition.
5-6 students are needed to assist with construction, maintenance and
performing tests with the apparatus. Students will ideally be available
for the whole summer (May- September).
