Hi Everyone,

I would like to pass along this message from the CSCE Calgary Section
Chair, Dan Dankewich. In order to encourage CSCE Students Members to
continue their membership in CSCE past graduation, CSCE is offering
Associate Memberships to graduating students at a discounted rate of only
$10 plus GST for the first year (as compared to the usual $52).

If you are interested in applying for a CSCE Associate Membership, you can
pick up the application form from any CSCE executive in the 4th year
homeroom or print off the attached form and drop it off with a CSCE

Initiative
CSCE Student Member conversion to Associate Member

Background
There are at present approximately 160 CSCE Student Members in the Civil
Engineering 2008 graduating class at the University of Calgary.  CSCE
Calgary Section Executive http://www.cscecalgary.ca wishes to recognize
and acknowledge the academic accomplishments of the CSCE Student Chapter
members. We believe Student participation in CSCE is vital not only to the
present strength of the organization but also to our future growth. As
graduating Civil Engineering Students, you have exemplified personal
commitment through planning and successful execution of your academic goal
for attaining a degree in Civil Engineering. The skills you have gained
during your studies represent a significant resource for you, but also for
the future of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering. As each of you
begin your professional careers, the enthusiasm, vision and leadership you
possess will grow with experience as you tackle real world civil
engineering projects and develop new and innovative solutions to civil
engineering problems. There is strength in numbers, let the Canadian
Society for Civil Engineering continue to be part of your strength and
your professional Civil Engineering career.

$52 plus GST fee assessed for first year Associate Membership, leaving you
to pay $10 plus GST. In order to take advantage of this offer, you must
complete and submit to CSCE National office the attached application form,
complete with your current CSCE student member number.
