[ENCI-l] Deadline Extension: RISE Professional Program

Attention all 4th year students:

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has extended the official 
deadline for the summer 2008 RISE (Research Internships in Science and 
Engineering) professional program to January 25, 2008. DAAD will also 
accept RISE professional applications on a first-come-first-served basis 
from January 25 through February 15, 2008. Applicants who apply after 
January 25 are encouraged to give five internship choices (instead of 
three). No applications will be accepted after February 15^th .

 

RISE professional is designed for recent graduates, Master's and PhD 
students, and alumni of the RISE program (for undergraduates) in the 
fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences (geology), and 
engineering. Participants are matched with a German company, where they 
gain insight into the professional applications of science and 
engineering and develop practical skills. These internships expose 
participants to advanced research and provide the rare opportunity to 
learn about Germany from the inside.

 

The RISE professional program features a scholarship to help cover 
living expenses. Every scholarship recipient receives an additional 
stipend of 500 euros from the host company each month and a lump sum of 
600 euros for travel expenses, as well as health insurance and accident 
and personal/private liability insurance.

 

Online registration is currently available, and the internship database 
is open.
