Alberta Environmentally Sustainable Agriculture (AESA) Scholarship
proposal to support courses of study and projects.

The processing committee of the Alberta Environmentally Sustainable
Agriculture (AESA) program has proposed to support courses of study and/or
projects in the field of environment related to agri-food processing. The
areas of support are broad, but must relate to the environment and the
agriculture industry. Descriptions of the proposal, the AESA Program and
 the application process are attached.

Alberta has the potential to substantially increase its agri-food
industry, however there are a number of issues that will impact the growth
of the industry such as environmental sustainability. The AESA processing
committee has identified the need to support the processing industry in
key areas such as research and development. The committee also recognizes
an opportunity to attract new students to the food processing industry and
financial support such as a scholarship to students for courses and/or
projects would be a strong incentive. A total budget of $10,000 per year
with a maximum of $3,000 per student is available for this purpose. The
application deadline for scholarship funding is December 15, 2007.

We would appreciate if you could forward this information to the
appropriate students who may benefit from this scholarship. If you have
any questions please contact Michelle McKinnon at 403 948-8512 (access
through the Government RITE line at 310-0000) Scholarship information and
application can also be obtained on the web at:
