Exams will not be given to students until after January 27, 2007 after all of the Deferred exams have been written. * _The reappraisal deadline for Fall 2006 Final exams is March 1, 2007._*_ *Please note: We do not have exam copies of your Amat, Math, Physics or Chemistry courses. You will need to contact the specific departments if you wish to obtain exam copies in those courses.* _The process is as follows:_ Starting the week of January 15th you can order your Fall 2006 final Exams at the Undergraduate Office ENC 204 for a a charge of $4.00 for each exam. Pick up your final exam copies after January 27, 2007. (An email will be sent out when exams are ready to be picked up. Please bring your receipt or have your student ID card at the time of pick up) Reappraisal forms can be found at http://www.ucalgary.ca/registrar/files/registrar/refingrd.pdf or you can obtain a copy at the Engineering Undergraduate Studies Office ENC 204. You will need to submit the completed reappraisal form along with the copy of your final exam to the registrars office (info below). Further information on re-appraisals can be found at http://www.eng.ucalgary.ca/students/FAQ/undergrad_answer7.htm In the reappraisal of a final grade, the only elements that will be considered are the grading of the final examination, if any, together with a recalculation of the weighted components that make up the final mark. An exception may occur when an instructor evaluates a piece of graded term work or other component at the end of the session; that grade may also be considered in a reappraisal of final grade. Please refer to the University Calendar for deadlines for submission of the reappraisal form. The final grade may be lowered, raised or may stay the same as a result of the reappraisal. *A Student may request a reappraisal of final grade only twice in one academic year (July 1-June 30) *MARCH 1ST IS THE DEADLINE FOR CHANGE OF GRADES FOR FALL SESSION * _*Please submit the Reappraisal of Final Grade to the drop box by the service stop at the MacKimmie Library block. It is up to the student to ensure that all documentation is complete and attached when submitted. There will be no checks for completion at the time of submission. Documents will be stamped with the date when dropped off at the service stop. Message-ID: <45B03548.50504@ucalgary.ca> *Attention all students interested in Internship Opportunities in Germany: DEADLINES: RISE - Jan 31, 2007 RISE-PRO Jan 25, 2007 * Interested in obtaining invaluable, career-building international professional experience? The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is again offering the RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) program. In addition, a new RISE professional program, the new sister program to RISE is also offered for post-graduation industry internships in Germany. Scholarships are awarded to American and Canadian undergraduates (RISE) and graduate students (RISE professional) in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, and engineering. RISE has established itself as an outstanding opportunity to combine serious research with a rewarding study-abroad experience. RISE Undergrads have the opportunity to work on cutting edge research projects at top research institutions (e.g., Max-Planck-Institutes) and universities in Germany. Students are paired with German PhD students in a unique mentoring partnership to ensure immediate integration into hands on lab work and built-in social network with an excellent opportunity to develop new technical skills. RISE participants will receive a scholarship to cover living expenses, and assigned PhD students will aid in the search for housing. Participants are not only exposed to advanced research but will have the rare opportunity to learn about Germany from the inside as they make new friends, establish professional contacts and spend weekends exploring the heart of Europe. Online registration and the internship database will be available on December 7. RISE professional, the new sister program to RISE for recent graduates, Master's and PhD students, and alumni of the RISE program matches participants with a German company, where they gain insight into the professional applications of science and engineering and develop practical skills. Similar to RISE, this new program features a scholarship to cover living expenses. Online registration opened on November 1. The internship database will be activated on December 1. Find out about eligibility and the application process in the attached files as well as read reports from past participants, at www.daad.de/rise and www.daad.de/rise-pro Please note students may only apply for one of the two programs and not both at the same time. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
