[Engg-enci-l] GNCTR 2008 General Meeting

Hello Engineering Students,

GNCTR 2008 will be a co-PM between Maryam Shafiee and Chase Babiuk.

There will be a general meeting hosted Wednesday May 23rd at 6:00 pm to
get the ball rolling!!  The meeting will be in ENF 325 (3rd year civil
homeroom).

FREE PIZZA will be provided!!

Key issues that will be discussed include:
1.Sponsorships and Finances
2.Team Theme (A theme has not yet been chosen and may not be chosen until 
the fall semester)
3.Goals and Expectations

ADDITIONALLY
For those of you who are in Civil, there is an opportunity to receive
course credit through one of two independent projects.  These two possible
independent projects are the Concrete Mix Design for the slab and the
design of the Superstructure.

Please note, there are several limitations to taking one of these
independent courses.

-The concrete mix design may only be pursued by those who have already
completed ENCI 513 (Concrete and Masonry) or an equivalent course.
-The independent course associated with the superstructure may only be
taken by those who have completed ENCI 451 (Yay for Structures!).
-Additionally, these courses are currently only open to those NOT in a
Minor.  Only those taking “general” Civil may choose to pursue these
courses.
-Each independent course may only take 1 student, which is subject to the
acceptance of the Professor associated with that independent course.  For
more information, please contact Dr. Lynne Cowe Falls.
