Hello everyone,

On Thursday, November 3rd, ESS will be hosting the 3rd annual
University of Calgary Engineering Competition and WEC information
session. The Western Engineering Competition is being held in Calgary
this year, and we need to show all those other Universities how we do
things in Canada's engineering capital. Not only do you get to compete
for the opportunity to go to the Canadian Engineering Competition, but
you get to meet tons of great people, go on some incredible industry
tours and even meet some industry recruiters at the career fair.
Registration for WEC will take place after UCEC, so it's very important
to be there, because you'll also get some information from the WEC
organizers (and pizza too). The competition aspect of UCEC takes the
form of a Junior Design problem, so it's a good idea to have a group
together beforehand, even if you want to compete in a different
category. The information session will start at 6:30pm in ICT 114, and
will be immediately followed by the competition in the ENGG 251 design
labs.

If you're feeling proactive, you can get information about the
different competition categories by going to wec2006.wesst.ca and
clicking on the 'Competitions' link at the top of the page. You can
also feel free to email me at essvpex at ucalgary.ca for more information.

Thanks very much for your time, and I hope to see as many people as
possible at UCEC!
