You may well have seen all the publicity around the North American Solar
Car Challenge, which is coming to Canada, and finishing in Calgary on
27^th July. 20-25 cars will reach the U of C between 11 am and 4pm on
that day, and we hope to welcome them, and invite the city to celebrate
the amazing achievement of travelling 4,000 km with only solar power.
We hope to have over 5,000 people out at the Finish line, to see the
cars, a number of fun exhibits around sustainable energy and the
environment, and enjoy a free BBQ.
We were out for Canada Day on Friday, with the prototype car (the real
one was going through its race testing) and we had an incredible
response from the public, bringing the Finish Line to U of C has brought
real pride and prestige to Calgary and to the University.
Just like the team that has made the race happen, we need a team to make
the finish line happen,
Below, are the volunteer positions available, and if you are able to
support the day, that would be fantastic, just fill in the form at the
bottom, and let me know. It would be great to have you on board.
Again, if you have any friends who can help, just forward this email on
to them. The more people we get, the better!
